Vampires are very sexual beings. More so than humans. They NEED
sex to fulfill a natural void and not just for continuing on the species! They relish sexual energy and some have been known
to feed and harness this power to suit their bodily needs and personal abilities. They MUST have an orgasm regularly though
having a partner isn’t necessary **wink**. They can go weeks without one, but any more than that and they suffer emotionally,
physically and reproductively. It’s like mice: if they don’t do to what their body is physically capable of, medical
problems can develop. Ejaculation can be painful for the male if he doesn’t get a chance to vent. Females cramp more
readily without regular ‘action’. These are not easily accepted difficulties, but they are easy to cure, if not
a bit painful until the situation corrects itself.
Vampires are exceptionally accepting of sex in their culture and everyone is encouraged to have it, even from a very young
age. Young Vampires (usually teens) tend to learn very fast and very hard. Dhampires have inherited this sexual desperation
and many get quite crabby if their mating urges are not met. Most have one partner that they rely on for their sexual gratification,
though it’s a different relationship than a date or lover. How these partners are chosen varies. Most have the following
requirements: What attracts them? Is the person cute? Do they enjoy their partner? Do they get along superbly well and have
decided that they’d be convenient FFs (Frik Friends)? How good are they in bed? Many Vampires have FFs that they eventually
fall in love with and marry.
Vampires, being as old and experienced as they are, are very very **GOOD** at love making. An unofficial motto would be “If
they ain’t screaming, you ain’t doing it right”. They know how to woo and flirt, though they are very human
in that aspect. They get as good as they are because of experience, not because of some vampiric gift!
Their reproductive organs and hormones are two reasons why they are so sexually eager. On first glimpse at the physical organs,
they’re very human. However, they are more sensitive to touch, smell and Pheremones. They seem to be particularly sensitive
to human and elven pheromones, besides those of their own species. Upon Sexual arousal, both sexes’ pupils abate. Their
breathing becomes shallower and they find it hard to concentrate (And you guys thought YOU had it bad!!). Males attain erection
swiftly, keep it longer than humans can and even have the ability to raise it at will. They have to be sexually aroused to
do this, though. Females have a slight change in the physiology of their uterus. Upon sexual arousal, the back wall of her
vagina tightens and rises to accept as much of the male’s penetration as possible, much like a tall glass fits into a
small bowl. It forces the head of the male’s penis to the roof of her vagina, where, upon her orgasm, she can draw the
male’s secretions into her reproductive tract. There is a small bump that taps the tip of the penis during orgasm and
that encourages the male to ejaculate again and moves the sperm from the vagina into the uterus.
The head of the Male’s penis is very sensitive and the slightest touch will excite him immensely. The female’s vagina
roof is just as responsive and as the male copulates with her, the action of penis-tip-on-vagina-roof will bring both partners
to climax in a matter of moments. Controlling one’s timing is essential and is an art learned early, out of necessity.
Most Dhampires have retained this sensitivity and are often frustrated when they can’t get the same satisfaction as being
with a vampiric partner.
Vampires find it harder to conceive than humans and many other Otherkins, with the exception of Elves. Elves may go hundreds
of years without conceiving. Vampires are not that extreme, but it does take multiple ‘mountings’ to insure a pregnancy.
Even Dracula had to copulate multiple times to father his Dhampire children. Vampiric children are rarely, if ever, fertilized
on the first try. In comparison, humans are like rabbits. They’re always bringing babies into the world! That is why
some Vampires have taken a hand in controlling the number of humans entering the world, especially in the costal regions of
Asia and South America. Most Vampires don’t care because they feel the more humans out there, the greater their selection
of donors.
Gestation is relatively short compared to their relatively long life spans. Their gestation is similar to that of a human’s,
but without the annoying side effects like morning sickness. Pregnant mothers suffer from cravings, too, but they tend to
lie in the blood-based products. Where Blood Supplies are restricted, they are encouraged to eat more Sanguine, aka ‘Blood
Fruit’, to curb their need for extra Vitamin C during their pregnancy. Many expectant mothers crave this fruit. It is
higher in vitamin C than blood taken from almost any other source, with the exception of drinking from someone downing a bottle
of the vitamin. :-)
Vampire babies are born into the world like humans. The eat, sleep and almost never poop unless something in their mother’s
milk makes their stomachs upset. They drink from the breast as a human child would, but vampiric mothers produce a blood-like
substance in their secretions. Vampiric babies develop fangs at an early age, well before the rest of their teeth fill in.
This can be a problem with mothers not used to feeling the prickle of little baby teeth! Imagine how it feels to have someone
bite your nipples!! :-). Vampires age at the same rate as humans do up until adulthood, which is around the age of 18 in most
Vampires. They go through the usual changes in appearance (minus the zits, unless they have some human in them), the surge
of hormones as they reach adolescence and in many cases, their unawakened abilities hit with a vengeance. Some Dhampires attain
symbiotes at this time. (It is suggested that D from the original VHD universe may have attained his around this time.)
One would think that Vampires would have many children over the course of thousands of years. Some, like Dracula, have fathered
untold numbers of offspring over the millennia, possibly in the millions. It’s more common for younger Vampires to have
much less than that. They’re likely to have one to three children in their lifetime.
