Ok... so all us players are Human, so we'd know a bit about Human Biology, but I needed a place to highlight slight differences between real world Humans and ShadowBlood Humans.

Humans HTML

General Information:

Humans turn faster and easier than any other species. The exception to this rule are some mutants, who usually have some human or vampire blood somewhere in their ancestry.

Humans are most noted for their ability to think and build themselves into (and out of) just about every situation imaginable. They are intensely adaptable but do suffer from a very short life span in comparison to most creatures in ShadowBlood. However, they are determined creatures with a level head. They came from several places in the known dimensional Universe and they have done so well in ShadowBlood that they are the second most dominant species. Their handiwork is seen everywhere, whether in their art, architecture or scientific knowledge. They often work side by side with Vampires to find medical cures and other major discoveries.

Abilities:

Humans are known for two important abilities: Their adaptability and their creativity. To some species, humans appear to evolve and adapt faster than Elves and some Demons. Even Vampires appear to move and create things slower than Humans! Humans can live in just about every environment, walk in both sunlight and moonlight without suffering deadly effects, and they can learn just about every spell in the ShadowBlood universe, though it takes extra effort to learn them and they are not as powerful as many species with the same skills. The only ability they cannot learn is Cold Forging as it is restricted to Vampires or those with some Vampire ancestry.

Sex and Reproduction:

Humans in the ShadowBlood universe are pretty much like you’d expect a human to be. With the exception of minor changes in their reproductive organs due to early introduction of Vampire blood (re: Dracula’s breeding program) the first 200 years of humans coexisting with them, they are pretty much everything you’d expect a human to be. It appears the Vampire’s reproductive tract shape and response times are dominant to any species they mate with, but despite diluted bloodlines, most species retain the general Vampire reproductive physiology. Therefore, ‘pureblood’ humans all have the unusual reproductive organ physiology that Vampires have, but it’s not so different that they cannot mate with other humans in another universe. It just means that sex with Vampires in the ShadowBlood universe is more intense than it would be with other humans.

Humans go through the usual 9 months of pregnancy, unless they’ve mated with another species, such as Elves. That joining tends to prolong gestation by a couple of weeks, but no longer than a month. Matings with Vampires have the same general result.

Turning:

Humans are among the easiest of species to Turn and they are the Vampire’s main ’food’. Humans are not as powerful as Vampires, Mutants and other species, so that makes them extra vulnerable to the Vampire bite. Some Humans may have a natural immunity to Turning, but they are rare and even they suffer minor changes to their physiology, such as sensitivity to light and a desire for blood.
